A Message from Senior Pastor Byron Stevenson

All parents want their child to attend a great school – not just a good school. I started my journey as the Senior Pastor of the then Bay Street Church Of God In Christ in June of 2000, one of the great challenges that our community faced was the fact that students within our community were not graduating.  

The burden for education became my passion and desire, with that, my twin sister and I started The King’s Academy! She and I have worked hard over the years to make a good school GREAT! Joy has since left The King’s Academy and now is the proud owner of three child care centers and a elementary Private School. While we serve two different communities, WE SERVE!

Teachers at The King’s Academy are passionate about their calling and purpose!  Although our teachers come in all different shapes and sizes, have varied backgrounds and experiences, and possess unique personality types, they have one thing in common, an insatiable love for giving their best to make our students become the best! We are blessed to have these remarkable men and women leading our students.
